Our very first Open House at Kailana Chapel

We wanted to take a moment to capture the magic of one of our most unforgettable moments of the year: our very first Open House at Kailana Chapel! 🌊✨

For those who have known us by our former name, St Catalina Seaside Chapel, you may be wondering what’s new. And you’re right—this venue has gone through an exciting rebranding! Back in 2023, we made the decision to expand our reach, welcoming not only Japanese clienteles, but also locals, mainland and international guests to experience our stunning chapel by the sea. While we’ve embraced the new name Kailana Chapel for our local friends, we’ve kept St Catalina Seaside Chapel for our Japanese market.

Why did we name it Kailana Chapel… It wasn’t an easy decision, we’ll admit! We spent countless days and weeks searching for that perfect name, the one that would truly capture the essence of the venue. And then, it hit us! As we gazed out at the calm waters in front of the chapel and felt the gentle breeze from the mountains, we realized that Kailana—meaning Calm Water in Hawaiian—was the perfect fit. It reflects the peaceful, serene atmosphere that we hope every guest experiences when they step onto the grounds of Kailana Chapel. 💙🌿

So, what was the Open House all about?

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to celebrate this special occasion! We invited a wonderful mix of professionals from the wedding and event industry, along with food lovers (because who doesn’t love good food, right?!). Local food vendors brought their ono grinds (delicious food) to the event, creating an incredible spread that made everything just that much more fun and tasty! 🍴We also hosted a fashion show with Hawaii’s local designers.
